Question pattern for Common Law Entrance Test

The Common Law Admission Test is conducted every year in various centres all over India in order to select students for studying in top law institutes. Hundreds and thousands of students appear for this exam. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious law entrance exams in India.
Before preparing for the Common Law Entrance Testit is necessary to know the question pattern. There are separate question patters for the   undergraduate as well as the postgraduate students. For undergraduate students
Total marks for the examination will be 200. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. English and Logical reasoning will carry 40 marks, General Knowledge and legal aptitude 50 marks and elementary math will carry 20 marks.

Important facts about the Common Law Entrance Test

The Common Law Entrance Test was first started in the year 2008 in an effort to curb down the hectic process of conducting examinations at separate parts of India. Until that year, it was the law schools in India that used to conduct such tests, but later a consensus was formed between Ministry of Human Resources Development and the University Grants Commission of India, where a joint decision was taken to conduct one legal entrance examination for all students of India irrespective of their state of domicile.

With this announcement, a large number of legal entrance aspirants heaved a sigh of relief as it was now much easier for them to appear for any law entrance exam. Many institutes for Law Coaching in Delhi began to form which started preparing students for the CLAT exam.
